Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacancies in Yumbe District Local Government. Applications on PSC Form 3 (revised 2008) in triplicate, together with 3 recent colored passport size photos and certified copies of academic documents (transcripts and Certificates), National Identity Cards, Registration Certificate, Practicing License and other relevant documents should reach the Secretary, District Service Commission Yumbe, P.O. Box 1, Yumbe not later than 24th February 2023. Hand written applications accompanied with curriculum vitae, copies of certified academic documents and three passport size photos can also be accepted. Application Form (PSC Form 3) can be obtained from the Secretary DSC Yumbe, or any nearby District, or Public Service Commission, Kampala. You are advised to indicate the correct reference number specified against each vacancy/post. Job Title : District Health Officer

Job Purpose
To manage and coordinate the effective, efficient and affordable delivery of quality of health services in the District.
Key Functions
- Planning and budgeting for health service delivery and infrastructure in the District;
- Mobilizing resources for health service delivery and infrastructure in the District;
- Monitoring and evaluating the delivery of health services in the district;
- Procuring medical supplies and equipment;
- Providing technical guidance and support supervision to Health Centres;
- Managing and accounting for financial, medical supplies and other resources allocated to the Districts;
- Coordinating the maintenance of Health equipment and facilities;
- Interpreting National Health Policy and integrating it into District Health Plans;
- Managing the implementation of the Uganda National Minimum Health Care Package (UNMHCP);

Person Specifications
Qualifications:
- An MB.Ch.B or BDS or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
- Masters Degree in Public Health, or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
- Must be registered and licensed with relevant council.
- PGD in PAM is an added advantage
Experience:
At least nine (9) years working experience in Clinical Practice three (3) of which at Senior Health Service management level
