Yumbe District Local Government received a new Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Asaba Innocent Birekeyaho on Monday 13th January, 2020 and bid farewell to the outgoing Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Jalwiny Silimani on the same day.

Mr. Asaba Innocent Birekeyaho was received by the, the District Chairperson, District Internal Security Officer, members of the District Council, the Technical Staff and the members of Yumbe community. He was handed over office by the outgoing Chief Administrative Officer during the handover ceremony that took place in the District Community Development Hall.

The outgoing Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Jalwiny Silimani reached mandatory retirement age. He worked in Yumbe for exactly one since the time he was transferred from Kumi. His handover was ceremoniously attended and at the same time, there was majestic end of year 2019 party attended by the several District stake holders including the District Chairperson, District Speaker, District Council members, District Technical staff, and development partners, among others.

In his handover speech he appreciated the staff for being peaceful and committed at providing quality services to the community. He mentioned the key achievements he has contributed to during his term of office focusing on the key service delivery sectors like works, production, tourism, education and health, the challenges and the current status of the District which were all captured in the report he handed over to the incoming Chief Administrative Officer.

The District Internal Security Officer called upon the incoming Chief Administrative Officer to take the safe custody of office documents as a priority and pledged his full support to him. He argued him not to respond to any pressure from anyone with personal interest. The District Internal Security Officer thanked the outgoing Chief Administrative Officer for being hard working and for all the remarkable contributions he has made towards achieving a sustainable social economic Development.

Staff represented by the PHRO Mr. Asiki Swaib, appreciated the period they have worked with him and for being like a father to many, for his commitment and dedication to work. He also promised continuous cooperation to the new Chief Administrative Officer to enhance service delivery.

Yumbe District Local Government has a vision to have “An improved Community from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous District within the National Planning Continuum of 30 years” and a mission “to serve the community through coordinated delivery of services which focus on National and Local priorities, and contribute to the improvement in the quality of life of the people” and the outgoing Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Jalwiny Silimani will always be appreciated for contributing to this cause.
